McNae Energy and Solar have installed over 1,000 solar electric systems. Our systems are reliable and trouble-free. However, if your system was installed by another company and you are having problems, then we may be able to help (depending on our current workload). We often get asked to fix other systems when they break down or don’t work as expected. Do you still have a warranty?

Check if your system is still covered by the original installer's warranty - quality companies offer a 10-year workmanship warranty. Quality solar panels typically include long 30 year warranties, while inverters range from 5 to 25 years depending on quality. We can repair any system, but when installing solar it pays to choose a long-standing provider. With over 35 years in business, we'll be here to provide reliable support.

Solar maintenance checks

McNae Energy and Solar provide professional solar maintenance checks. While AS/NZS 5033 recommends annual inspections, we suggest a check 12 months after installation, then every five years if everything is performing well. It’s also wise to book a check after storm damage, lightning strikes, or if animals may have interfered with cabling. Our comprehensive inspection includes roof checks for panel condition, debris and water ingress, along with electrical testing, shading analysis, output checks, and a detailed report. If repairs or upgrades are needed, we can carry them out promptly or provide clear recommendations.

Do you need to REmove your solar panels?

If you need to remove your panels to paint your roof McNae Energy and Solar can do the job for you. Our specialist solar installers know how to carefully remove and replace any type of system. We work on all roof types and can even store your panels temporarily while your roof repair work is carried out.

Are you shifting house?

Have you thought about taking your solar panels with you? McNae Electrical Solutions has moved a number of systems. It’s cost-effective and hassle-free—however most solar warranties cannot be transferred, so this is something to be aware of. Your panels and inverters also need to be up to current standards for us to obtain approval from regulatory authorities for them to be installed at a new location. If they are older, and not suitable for redeployment, we can advise on replacements or upgrades.
